The 16th China International Mould Technology and Equipment Exhibition is being held in Shanghai. As an industry providing process equipment for manufacturing industry, China's mould Market ranks first in the world in 2015, and its comprehensive competitiveness ranks among the top ten in the world.
According to the statistics of China Mold Industry Association, although affected by the macroeconomic slowdown, the scale of China's mould Market in 2015 still increased by 4.2% compared with the previous year, reaching 155 billion yuan. A total of 31,000 patents were granted in the whole year, the highest in all years, of which 16.6% were invention patents. The sales of 160 key enterprises in the industry maintained a double-digit growth of 10%, and the sales of high-end smart mould towns and high-end moulds maintained a double-digit growth. The rapid development of tooling production base shows that the mould industry is accelerating transformation and upgrading through innovation.
Statistics show that in 2015, China's export of moulds amounted to US$5.08 billion, an increase of 3.3% over the previous year, while imports of moulds amounted to US$2.485 billion, a decrease of 4% over the previous year. China has 189 exporting countries and regions, 733 enterprises exporting more than US$1 million, and the export surplus has increased by 11.5% year on year, which shows that the cost-performance advantage of Chinese moulds has been continued.
According to Wubingshu, the executive vice president and secretary-general of China Mold Industry Association, looking forward to the 13th Five-Year Plan, China's mould market is still expected to provide stable growth opportunities for enterprises at home and abroad. First, China's transportation equipment represented mainly by automobiles, light industrial products represented mainly by household appliances, consumer electronics and plastic products, information technology products represented by communication terminals and network terminals, electromechanical equipment and basic components industries represented mainly by instruments, electrical appliances and integrated circuits, and mould "big users" industries such as building materials and household products. They are already big countries in the related manufacturing fields all over the world, and this pattern will not change in the next three to five years. Second, the rapid development of high-speed rail trains, rail transit trains, medical devices, commercial aircraft, robots, 3D printing equipment and other industries in China in recent years will provide new development space for the die and mould industry. Conversely, the die and mould industry will also help "Made in China" become bigger and stronger.
It is predicted that by 2020, the scale of China's mould market is expected to reach 250 billion yuan, and the demand for medium and high-grade moulds will account for about 60% of the total market demand. Key enterprises in the industry are expected to increase from 160 to about 200, with sales accounting for 25% of the total industry.
